Earth Day 2020

Updated: May 21, 2020

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on the 22nd of April each year. This day has reached a significant milestone by demonstrating support for environmental protection for 50 years. It was first celebrated in 1970 and now includes events coordinated globally in more than 193 countries.

Earth Day allows us to consider natural environments and what is being done to protect wild tracts of land and species that thrive within them. Right now, more than ever, we have the opportunity to become more conscious of the impact we have on the planet and what role we each play in sustaining it.

To celebrate Earth Day, during this monumental global shift, Escape Safari Co. decided to highlight the three most important pillars of the ecotourism industry. Wildlife, People and Land.

Collectively we have been able to play a role as guides, photographers, travel agents and conservationists in ecotourism for over 20 years. This has allowed us to play a role in many conservation success stories across Africa and other parts of the globe. We have witnessed how crucial each of these elements is in fortifying a sustainable ecotourism model. There is an important symbiosis between each element and one can’t survive or thrive without the other.

With our passion and drive, we will continue to play our part in an industry that truly makes a positive difference.
